AOKE Europe - 2024 CSRD report: a step forward in sustainability

At AOKE Europe, sustainability is becoming a bigger part of how we work every day. With our 2024 CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) report, we have taken an important step in making that more transparent and structured.

This is the first time we have mapped our sustainability efforts in this level of detail. It gives us a clearer picture of where we stand today, what we are already doing well, and where we can improve.

What we focused on in the 2024 CSRD report

• Environmental Responsibility

In 2024, we gained better insight into our environmental impact by completing a full emissions assessment together with Greenly, earning AOKE Europe a silver medal in just the first year. This assessment showed a total footprint of around 7,600 tCO₂e, with the largest share coming from purchased goods and transport.

We continue to improve how we operate. Our headquarters in Herten is fully electric, highly energy-efficient, and partly powered by solar energy. At the same time, we focus on more circular materials, with most materials being close to fully recyclable and over 80% of our steel already coming from recycled sources.

Transport remains a key contributor to our emissions. To address this, we compensate transport-related emissions through certified programs together with Rotra, while continuing to look for ways to reduce our overall impact.

• Social Responsibility

People remain at the core of what we do. We focus on creating a healthy and safe working environment, with attention to ergonomics, well-being, and daily comfort. Initiatives such as our in-house gym, team activities, and the Ergomate app help support this in practice.

Workplace safety is a priority, with clear processes and training in place. Since moving to our new facility, we have reported zero incidents.

We also work with partners that create social impact, such as supporting people with a distance to the labour market and contributing to initiatives that make a positive difference beyond our own organization. These initiatives can also be seen on our CSR page, as well as the report.

• Sustainability Goals 2025-2035

Looking ahead, we have defined clear goals to guide our sustainability efforts in the coming years, here is a brief overview of the exact goals and the corresponding target years AOKE Europe has set.

This report marks the starting point of a more structured approach to sustainability at AOKE Europe. It gives us a clear baseline and allows us to measure our progress more accurately in the years ahead.
